20-03-2026Legendary action star and martial arts expert Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86, with his family describing his passing as sudden yet peaceful. He reportedly spent his final moments surrounded by loved ones.
Born Carlos Ray Norris in Oklahoma, he rose from a modest background to become one of the most respected figures in martial arts. His journey began during his time in the US Air Force, where he was introduced to combat disciplines while stationed in South Korea. Over the years, he built an extraordinary career, eventually becoming a six-time undefeated world karate champion and creating his own martial arts system, Chun Kuk Do.
Before entering Hollywood, Norris established a successful chain of martial arts schools, training several celebrities. Encouraged by peers, including martial arts icon Bruce Lee, he transitioned into films. The two famously shared screen space in the 1972 classic Return of the Dragon, featuring a memorable fight sequence.
Norris went on to star in a series of action films such as Missing in Action and The Delta Force, but it was his role in the television series Walker, Texas Ranger that made him a household name worldwide. The show ran for nearly a decade and cemented his image as a symbol of justice and strength.
Beyond acting, Norris became a pop culture phenomenon thanks to viral “Chuck Norris Facts,” humorous exaggerations that turned him into a larger-than-life internet legend. He embraced the trend, even publishing a book inspired by the jokes and using it to support charitable causes, including youth-focused initiatives.
In later years, he remained active through occasional film appearances and writing, while also expressing strong views on faith, politics, and social issues. He is survived by his children and wife, leaving behind a legacy that spans martial arts, entertainment, and global popular culture.
