Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda was hospitalized in Mumbai on Tuesday after accidentally shooting himself in the knee with his licensed revolver. The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. while Govinda was inspecting the firearm in preparation to leave.

Following the misfire, the actor was immediately taken to CritiCare Hospital, where he has been admitted to the ICU. The hospital has not provided any updates on his condition, stating that Govinda's family will issue a statement soon.

Govinda, a popular figure from the 90s known for his comedic roles and dance performances, joined the Eknath Shinde-led faction of the Shiv Sena earlier this year in March.
