Actor Ahaan Panday has shared that he would be open to collaborating with filmmaker Aryan Khan in the future, emphasising that such a project would be driven by their deep-rooted friendship and not merely professional timing.
Ahaan, who recently stepped into the industry with Saiyaara, was asked in an interview with Filmfare whether he and Aryan — who debuted as a director with The Ba**ds of Bollywood* — could emerge as a notable actor-director duo.
Responding positively, the 28-year-old said he would consider the idea, but only if it evolved organically. He made it clear that a potential collaboration would not be motivated by publicity or the buzz surrounding their respective debuts. Instead, he underlined that it would have to come from a genuine personal connection.
Reflecting on their equation, Ahaan spoke about the comfort that comes from growing up together. He shared an anecdote from their younger days, recalling how Aryan would often head straight to his house after school — sometimes even before going home to his own family. According to Ahaan, that shared history has created an unspoken understanding between them, something that could translate meaningfully into creative work.
He added that working together would feel natural rather than transactional, suggesting that any future project would be something he would truly enjoy.
Upcoming Projects
On the professional front, Ahaan is currently involved in an action film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. He is also set to reunite with his Saiyaara co-star Aneet Padda for Mohit Suri’s next venture. The film, produced by Yash Raj Films, is expected to begin production later this year and is targeting a global theatrical release in 2027.
Their previous outing, Saiyaara, turned out to be a major box office performer, reportedly collecting ₹580 crore worldwide, and the on-screen pairing of Ahaan and Aneet received strong audience appreciation.
Aryan Khan, meanwhile, made his directorial debut last year with The Ba**ds of Bollywood*. While he has yet to reveal details about his next project, industry watchers are keen to see what he takes on next.
