A recent video showcasing Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s sprawling new bungalow in Mumbai, reportedly worth ₹250 crore, has gone viral online. The six-storey residence, still under construction, has now sparked a controversy after Alia publicly objected to the circulation of these clips.
What Happened
Alia Bhatt took to Instagram to express her displeasure over the viral visuals of their private home. The actress wrote that while Mumbai’s close-knit living makes privacy a challenge, filming and sharing footage of someone’s residence without consent is unacceptable.
“A video of our home – still under construction – has been recorded and shared widely without our knowledge or permission. This is not content; it’s a violation of privacy and a potential security concern,” she wrote.
She further appealed to fans and media outlets to refrain from forwarding or publishing the material. “Would you tolerate videos of your personal space being circulated without your consent? None of us would. So here’s a humble request – please don’t share such content,” she urged.
About the New Kapoor Residence
The mansion, located in Mumbai’s upscale area, carries a strong legacy. It originally belonged to Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor before being passed down to Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in the 1980s. Now, Ranbir and Alia are preparing to carry the family heritage forward.
The couple, along with their daughter Raha, have often been spotted visiting the site to monitor progress. Neetu Kapoor has also been photographed at the location. Reports suggest the family may move in soon, possibly choosing a traditional auspicious date.
In Short
Alia Bhatt has called out the viral circulation of videos of her new bungalow, labeling it a breach of privacy and urging media houses and the public to take them down immediately.
