Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce attack on the opposition coalition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) on Sunday, dubbing it the "Aurangzeb fan club." At the BJP's state convention in Pune, Shah also targeted Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, calling him the leader of this so-called club.

Shah criticized Thackeray for aligning with those who had served "biryani" to 26/11 terror attack convict Ajmal Kasab and supported clemency for 1993 Mumbai serial blasts convict Yakub Memon.

"Who are part of the Aurangzeb fan club? Those who serve biryani to Kasab, those who seek clemency for Yakub Memon, those who give controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik a peace award, and those who support the banned Islamist outfit PFI. Uddhav Thackeray should be ashamed of sitting with these people," Shah stated.

In his speech, the Union Home Minister also attacked opposition leader and NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, labeling him as the "head of corruption."

"They want to win elections by spreading misconceptions. They talk about corruption, but the biggest leader of corruption in Indian politics is Sharad Pawar, and I have no confusion when I say this. Sharad Pawar institutionalized corruption in many governments of this country," Shah said.

Amit Shah also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asserting that Gandhi's arrogance would be defeated in the upcoming Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Haryana. Shah pointed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent Lok Sabha election victory as a testament to the people's support.

Boosting the morale of BJP workers, Shah encouraged them not to be disheartened by the Lok Sabha election results in Maharashtra, where the party's tally decreased from 23 seats in 2019 to nine in 2024. He urged them to promote the government's good work and welfare schemes to the people.

"Every BJP worker from Maharashtra has contributed to the party’s victory. The BJP-led alliance will perform better in the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls than it did in 2019 and 2014. We will work harder and set new goals for ourselves. The saffron must rise again in Maharashtra," Shah concluded.
