In a land where walking pilgrimages are deeply rooted in tradition, Anant Ambani—youngest son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani—has set out on a personal journey of faith, walking 170 kilometres from his hometown Jamnagar to the sacred city of Dwarka in Gujarat.
The 29-year-old began his spiritual trek on March 29, covering nearly 20 kilometres each night. The journey is expected to culminate on April 8, just a day before he turns 30. Along the way, he's been greeted by well-wishers, some joining him for parts of the route, others offering tokens of devotion like images of Lord Dwarkadhish, or simply stopping to share moments with him.
Anant’s pilgrimage is especially remarkable given his personal health challenges. Despite suffering from Cushing’s Syndrome, a complex hormonal disorder, and battling obesity, asthma, and lung-related ailments, he has shown exceptional resolve and commitment.
As he walks through Gujarat’s spiritual landscape, Anant Ambani recites sacred verses including the Hanuman Chalisa, Sundarkand, and Devi Stotras. His devotion to Sanatan Dharma is evident, with frequent visits and generous contributions to renowned temples such as Badrinath, Kedarnath, Kalighat, Kamakhya, Nathdwara, and participation in the Kumbh Mela.
While his spiritual side shines, Ambani also bears weighty responsibilities. He is actively involved in overseeing the world's largest oil refinery and spearheads Reliance’s clean energy initiatives. Additionally, he has founded the Vantara animal welfare project, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
With this pilgrimage, Anant Ambani is walking a path that blends timeless devotion with modern leadership—honouring age-old traditions while shaping the future.
