Social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija, widely recognized as 'The Rebel Kid,' has told Mumbai Police that the controversial show India’s Got Latent was unscripted and that she was encouraged to speak freely. Mukhija, who served as a judge on the show alongside YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, recorded her statement after being summoned in connection with the ongoing investigation into vulgar and offensive remarks made on the program.

According to Mukhija, who has over 2.7 million Instagram followers, she was not paid for her participation and was informed that the show’s format allowed unrestricted speech. Cases have already been registered against Mukhija, Allahbadia, show host Samay Raina, and other participants in Mumbai and Assam due to the nature of the content. Prominent digital creators Ashish Chanchlani and Jaspreet Singh are also facing legal scrutiny.

The controversy erupted after Allahbadia, known online as 'BeerBiceps,' asked an inappropriate question to a contestant:
"Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?"

The remark sparked widespread backlash, prompting the video’s removal from YouTube following government intervention. The incident has ignited a nationwide discussion on free speech and content regulation on digital platforms.

The issue has also reached Parliament, where the Information Technology (IT) panel is reportedly considering summoning Allahbadia over the controversial remarks. Additionally, lawmakers are debating potential regulatory measures for online content, with sources suggesting that YouTube may also face scrutiny for broadcasting the episode.

Mukhija, named among Forbes' Top 100 Digital Stars, has collaborated with major brands such as Nike, Amazon, and Maybelline. However, the recent controversy has cast a shadow over her digital presence, as debates around influencer accountability and online content moderation continue.
