Hours after the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility for an attack that allegedly killed 90 Pakistani military personnel, its elite unit, the Majeed Brigade, released footage showing the moment of the explosion.

The video, shared by the BLA, captures a blast followed by thick smoke billowing from a bus. This comes after earlier images surfaced, depicting a burnt-out bus and wrecked vehicles at the attack site.

According to a statement from the BLA, the assault was carried out by the Majeed Brigade in coordination with another unit, the Fateh Squad. The military convoy, consisting of eight buses, was ambushed, with one bus being completely destroyed in the explosion.

Post-attack visuals revealed the extent of destruction in Noshki, Balochistan, approximately 150 kilometers from Quetta.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani military disputed the casualty figures, stating that seven soldiers had died and 21 were injured. They described the attack as a coordinated strike involving an explosives-laden vehicle and Rocket-Propelled Grenades (RPGs).

"A security convoy traveling from Quetta to Taftan was ambushed. The attack targeted seven buses and two other vehicles. One bus was struck by an IED-laden vehicle, likely a suicide attack, while another was hit by RPG fire," a Pakistani military official said.

The BLA further claimed that after the initial explosion, the Fateh Squad surrounded the convoy and systematically eliminated all military personnel inside.

Reacting to the attack, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti condemned the incident, confirming that the convoy consisted of seven buses and two cars. He also expressed sorrow over the loss of Pakistani soldiers.

The BLA, which has long sought independence for Balochistan, recently hijacked a Peshawar-bound train. In its statement, the group asserted that it had executed all 214 military personnel it had taken hostage, claiming this was in retaliation for Pakistan’s failure to meet its 48-hour deadline to exchange them for Baloch political prisoners.
