Blake Lively Dons Rahul Mishra’s Couture Skirt, Joins A-Listers Championing Indian Designer

Blake Lively adds Indian designer Rahul Mishra to her style roster, dazzling in a hand-embroidered skirt from his Spring 2025 couture collection

Hollywood star Blake Lively is the latest international icon to embrace Indian fashion designer Rahul Mishra’s couture, following in the footsteps of stars like Zendaya, Gigi Hadid, and Selena Gomez.

Currently on the promotional tour for her new film Another Simple Favour, Lively turned heads in a striking black pencil skirt from Mishra’s Spring 2025 couture line. Aptly titled Cityscape, the skirt boasts intricate hand embroidery and signature 3D embellishments — hallmarks of the designer’s meticulous craftsmanship.

Lively, who often styles her own looks, opted for a simple black tank top to complement the detailed skirt, letting the couture piece remain the focal point.

Rahul Mishra, an internationally acclaimed designer from a village near Kanpur, has carved out a distinct space in global fashion by marrying Indian artisanal techniques with contemporary design. His creations have earned acclaim on global red carpets, including the Oscars, Met Gala, and Grammys.

His bridal wear, especially ivory-hued lehengas, is a popular choice among unconventional brides. Today, however, his primary focus lies in creating high-fashion pieces for the international luxury market.

Mishra became the first Indian designer to present at Paris Haute Couture Week in 2020 and has been a regular fixture there ever since. His breakthrough moment came when he won the prestigious International Woolmark Prize — an honour previously awarded to legendary designers like Karl Lagerfeld and Giorgio Armani — putting Indian craftsmanship firmly on the world fashion map.
