Bollywood stars paid heartfelt tributes to designer Rohit Bal, who passed away on November 1 at the age of 63 due to a heart condition. Celebrities including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Ananya Panday, and Aditi Rao Hydari remembered the renowned designer for his exceptional style and artistry.

Ananya shared a touching tribute on Instagram featuring a photo of herself as a showstopper for Bal, captioning it with “Gudda, Om Shanti,” along with a heart and folded hands emoji. Kareena honored Bal by posting a vintage photo of him from his modeling days, adding heart emojis to express her sorrow. Aditi captioned her tribute, "Rest in style, Rest in beauty."

Sidharth Malhotra also expressed his condolences on Instagram, writing, "Deeply saddened by the loss. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti."

Sonam Kapoor referred to Bal affectionately as 'Gudda' and shared a heartfelt note on her Instagram stories, revealing that she was wearing one of his designs during her Diwali celebrations. She wrote, "Dear Gudda, I heard about your passing while celebrating Diwali in your gorgeous creation that you generously lent to me for the second time. I feel blessed to have known you, worn your creations, and walked for you numerous times. I hope you are at peace. Always your biggest fan."

Rohit Bal had been struggling with heart issues for a while, and the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) confirmed his death in an official statement. The tribute noted, "We mourn the passing of legendary designer Rohit Bal. A founding member of the FDCI, he was known for his unique fusion of traditional patterns and modern aesthetics, which transformed Indian fashion and inspired many."

The statement concluded, "His legacy of creativity and innovation will continue to resonate in the fashion industry. Rest in peace, GUDDA."

Bal had been hospitalized in November 2023 at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram due to complications from a long-standing cardiac condition. Earlier this year, he made a return to the fashion scene, showcasing his work at the Lakme India Fashion Week last month, where he caused concern among fans after stumbling on the ramp.
