A bomb scare caused heightened security measures at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport after a handwritten note warning of an explosive was found inside an IndiGo aircraft preparing to depart for Ahmedabad.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when crew members discovered the suspicious message inside the aircraft's lavatory before take-off. The flight involved was IndiGo 6E-6423, scheduled to operate between Bengaluru and Ahmedabad.

Security Protocol Activated

Following the discovery, airport authorities immediately activated standard emergency procedures. A Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was convened at Terminal 1 to assess the situation, and the aircraft was taken aside for a detailed security inspection.

Security personnel thoroughly searched the plane but did not recover any explosive device or suspicious material. Officials later confirmed that the threat was a hoax.

Note Prompted Immediate Response

According to officials, the handwritten note carried the message: "Don't go. Bomb Hai! Please." The warning led authorities to suspend normal operations involving the aircraft until all safety checks were completed.

Police Complaint Filed

After the incident, airport authorities approached the Airport Police, requesting registration of an FIR and a detailed investigation to identify the person who left the threatening message.

IndiGo also filed a formal complaint, stating that the false bomb threat caused significant disruption to flight operations and raised serious concerns regarding passenger and crew safety.

The airline has urged investigators to trace the individual responsible and initiate appropriate legal action.
