Brooklyn Beckham has opened up about an emotional rift within his famous family, alleging that his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, attempted to exert excessive influence over his personal choices and his marriage to actor Nicola Peltz.

In a lengthy message released online, the 26-year-old said he felt compelled to address what he described as inaccurate media narratives surrounding his relationship with his family. He claimed that continued briefings to the press had left him with no option but to share his own version of events.

Brooklyn stated that he no longer wished to pursue reconciliation and insisted that his decision to distance himself was an act of independence rather than outside influence. He wrote that he was speaking out “for the first time in my life,” adding that he wanted to counter stories that, in his view, protected a public image at the cost of others.

A major point of contention, according to Brooklyn, revolved around his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz. He alleged that plans for his mother to design the bridal gown were withdrawn at a late stage, forcing Nicola to make alternative arrangements. The bride ultimately wore a Valentino couture creation.

He also recounted an awkward episode during the reception, saying that what was intended to be his first dance with Nicola turned into an unexpected mother–son dance. The moment, he claimed, left him feeling embarrassed and overshadowed. The couple later chose to renew their vows in 2025 in an effort to create happier memories.

Brooklyn further suggested that, in the weeks leading up to the wedding, he faced pressure to sign over certain rights linked to his name. He did not specify the nature of those rights but said he declined, a decision that he believes altered his relationship with his parents.

Reflecting on his upbringing, Brooklyn shared that he had struggled with intense anxiety for years. He said that stepping away from family tensions had brought him a sense of calm and that he and Nicola now hope to live away from public drama.

Neither David nor Victoria Beckham has issued a response to the allegations so far.
