A Calicut-bound IndiGo flight was instructed to abort takeoff from Delhi by the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) due to safety concerns. The ATC's directive was prompted by a "go-around" maneuver by another aircraft on a parallel runway, according to IndiGo.

The IndiGo flight 6E5913 was initially scheduled to depart from Delhi at 7:10 pm on Wednesday. However, following the ATC's instruction, the flight did not leave until 11:03 pm.

In a statement, IndiGo explained that the takeoff was aborted following ATC instructions due to another aircraft's go-around on the parallel runway. The IndiGo aircraft subsequently returned to the terminal, where passengers were promptly transferred to another aircraft to minimize delays. The airline apologized for any inconvenience caused.

The other aircraft involved was reportedly an Air India flight, though Air India has yet to comment on the incident.

This event adds to a series of recent issues involving IndiGo flights. Earlier in the month, passengers at Rajkot International Airport clashed with IndiGo staff after the Rajkot-Mumbai flight was delayed for more than two hours. Passengers, having waited over three hours, became increasingly frustrated and argued with the airline staff.

Last month, an IndiGo flight bound for Ahmedabad had to return to Delhi due to a landing gear problem. Additionally, in March, an IndiGo plane's wingtip grazed the wing of an Air India Express aircraft at Kolkata airport, causing damage to both planes' wingtips.
