Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a three-day visit to the United States for the Quad Leaders' Summit, hosted by outgoing President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware.
Upon arrival on Saturday, PM Modi was treated to an intimate dinner at Biden's residence, featuring a diverse menu crafted by James Beard-nominated Chef Antimo DiMeo, Executive Chef of Bardea Restaurant Group. The dinner showcased several options, including a variety of vegetarian dishes.
The menu included:
1. Caprese Salad: Mozzarella di Bufala, Scarlet Red Baby Tomatoes, Basil, and Sicilian Oregano.
2. Vegetarian Option: Root Vegetable Pave, Lemon Risotto, Pistachio, and Black Lime.
3. Non-Vegetarian Option: Wagyu Strip Steak with Lemon Risotto, Pistachio, and Black Lime.
4. Pescatarian Option: Red Snapper accompanied by Lemon Risotto, Pistachio, and Black Lime.
5. Dessert: Gelato Trio featuring Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, and Pistachio, served with Cocoa Crumble and Pizzelle.
6. Wines: A selection including Schramsberg 'Blanc de Blancs', Model Farm 'Wildcat Mountain' Chardonnay, and O'Shaughnessy Cabernet Sauvignon.
During the Quad Summit, PM Modi emphasized the alliance's commitment to a "rules-based international order," asserting that it is "not against anyone." He stated that a "free, open, inclusive, and prosperous Indo-Pacific" remains a shared priority.
The Quad Summit marks a significant event as it is one of the last major engagements of Biden's presidency before the upcoming November 5 elections. India is set to host the next Quad Summit in 2025.
In addition to the summit, PM Modi engaged in bilateral talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Following the summit, PM Modi departed for New York, where he is scheduled to address the 'Summit of the Future' at the UN General Assembly, interact with the Indian diaspora, and meet with American tech industry leaders.
