A video of Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin and actor Dakota Johnson taking a holy dip at the Sangam during Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj has gone viral. The couple, who visited India last month, were seen participating in the sacred ritual with folded hands, greeting fellow devotees with respect.
The video was shared by a fan on Instagram, who was also at the Sangam. “When you can’t go to the concert, the artist comes to you—at Kumbh Mela! Took a Sangam Snan with none other than Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Dakota, who followed every ritual with deep respect. Music unites, but faith transcends. Har Har Mahadev!” the caption read.
In the clip, Chris Martin was dressed in black shorts, while Dakota wore a printed cotton kurta paired with orange pants. At one point, Martin is seen greeting the partner of the fan who recorded the video.
The couple reportedly took an early morning dip in the holy waters of the Ganga and Yamuna rivers. This follows another viral video of Chris inside a car, playfully making faces while greeting fans on his way to the airport.
Chris Martin was in India for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour, performing five concerts—two in Mumbai and three in Ahmedabad. The Ahmedabad concert, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium on January 26, set a record as India’s largest-ever ticketed music event. To mark Republic Day, Martin also performed renditions of Maa Tujhe Salaam and Vande Mataram, delighting the audience.
