Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das on Wednesday accused a group of YouTubers and media personnel of unlawfully entering his residence and filming inside the property, describing the incident as both an invasion of privacy and a threat to his family's security.

In a post on X, Das claimed that visuals from inside his home were being circulated online after the alleged intrusion. He said the situation had created serious safety concerns for those living at the residence.

According to Das, nearly 15 to 20 individuals gathered outside his house on Wednesday morning, while some had reportedly remained outside since the previous night. He alleged that the circulation of videos showing his residence could expose his family to potential attacks by anti-social elements.

Das further stated that if any harm came to him or his family because of the incident, those responsible for filming and distributing the videos, along with anyone coordinating their actions, should be held accountable.

The CJP leader also shared links to online videos in which individuals were seen discussing his residence, personal life and his role in the 36-day student protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, a campaign that eventually culminated in the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Das said he was not at home when the incident occurred, as he was attending a two-day CJP strategy meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, but expressed concern for the safety of his family members.

The allegations drew reactions from several opposition leaders.

Trinamool Congress MP Derek O'Brien said the issue would be raised in the Rajya Sabha, while AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal criticised the alleged incident, calling it reflective of the Central government's functioning.

Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also commented on the controversy, alleging that student protesters were being targeted for demanding reforms in the education system. He criticised what he described as intimidation and coercive actions against those associated with the movement.

Meanwhile, speaking on the sidelines of the party's strategy meeting, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said the organisation would continue functioning as a pressure group rather than entering electoral politics. He also indicated that the group intends to expand its outreach to other states, including participating in ongoing student-related movements.
