Cockroach Janata Party Issues Fresh Demands After Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation, Seeks ₹1 Crore Compensation and Police Accountability

Fresh off securing the departure of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the youth-led Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has made it clear that its agitation is far from over. Addressing media representatives shortly after the minister’s resignation, CJP president Abhijeet Dipke presented a list of unresolved conditions that the administration must fulfill to completely resolve the standoff.

Primary among these requirements is a financial compensation package of ₹1 crore for the families of aspirants who died by suicide following paper leak controversies in the NEET examinations. Additionally, the group is demanding stern disciplinary action against police personnel involved in the forceful crackdown on demonstrators earlier in the week, alongside the immediate dropped charges for all students booked on or after July 20.

Shortly after the press briefing, the CJP expanded its requirements on social media, posting an updated checklist on X that included a formal public apology from the Rapid Action Force (RAF) and the Delhi Police.

The ongoing demonstration at New Delhi's Jantar Mantar began over five weeks ago as a focused campaign for academic transparency and examination safeguards. Over time, however, the movement broadened into a wider crusade addressing youth unemployment, government oversight, and economic fairness.

Confrontations intensified significantly on Monday, July 20, when law enforcement agencies intercepted thousands of student marchers moving toward Parliament Hill, resulting in clashes that left several demonstrators injured.

Speaking to energized crowds at the protest site, Dipke celebrated the political shift, noting that organized youth action had disproved widespread claims that the current executive leadership would never yield to resignation demands. The CJP maintained that its sit-in at Jantar Mantar will continue until all remaining items on its manifesto are addressed by federal authorities.
