Actor Deepika Padukone has offered fans a light-hearted update on her second pregnancy, sharing a social media post that captured the challenges of expecting a baby while caring for a toddler.
On Saturday, Deepika reposted a funny reel on her Instagram Stories that highlighted the everyday struggles faced by parents preparing for another child. The clip featured a pregnant woman carrying a young child despite medical advice against lifting heavy objects during pregnancy. The caption on the video joked, "Don't lift anything over 20 pounds while pregnant. Me this entire pregnancy." Deepika added a playful Spider-Man sticker to the post.
The actor and her husband, Ranveer Singh, welcomed their first child, daughter Dua, in September 2024. Since then, the couple have largely kept their family life private, sharing only occasional glimpses while shielding their daughter from the spotlight.
The couple's growing family recently became a talking point during an event attended by Ranveer. While promoting his health venture, the actor jokingly responded to a fan complimenting his coffee-making skills, saying in Hindi that he was "about to become the father of two children." The remark quickly gained attention online, with fans dissecting every detail of the viral clip.
Earlier this year, Deepika and Ranveer announced that they were expecting their second child through a joint Instagram post. The announcement featured a picture of their daughter holding a positive pregnancy test kit, accompanied only by evil-eye emojis in the caption.
Deepika and Ranveer's relationship began on the sets of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. Over the years, the duo collaborated on several successful films, including Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, 83 and Singham Again. After dating for several years, they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Italy's Lake Como in November 2018.
The couple announced the arrival of their daughter on September 8, 2024, through a social media post. Dua's name was revealed to the public nearly two months later.
On the professional front, Deepika is gearing up for Siddharth Anand's King, alongside Shah Rukh Khan, and is also set to feature opposite Allu Arjun in Atlee's upcoming film, AA22xA6.
Ranveer, meanwhile, was last seen in Dhurandhar: The Revenge and is currently working on the post-apocalyptic thriller Pralay. The actor has also been in the news recently following reports surrounding his exit from Don 3, sparking widespread discussion within the film industry.
