Delhi’s New CM Likely to Be Sworn in After February 13 as BJP Finalizes Leadership
The BJP is holding discussions to select Delhi’s next Chief Minister, with the swearing-in expected after PM Modi’s return from the US
09-02-2025The swearing-in ceremony for Delhi’s next Chief Minister is expected to take place after February 13, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s return from the United States, sources revealed on Sunday. Meanwhile, the BJP has begun internal discussions to select its leader to head the government in the capital.
With a decisive victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, the BJP ended its 27-year wait to return to power, securing 48 out of 70 seats. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which governed the city for the past decade, managed to win only 22 seats, with key leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia suffering defeats.
The BJP had contested the elections without announcing a Chief Ministerial candidate and has now initiated high-level meetings to finalize its choice for the post. Reports suggest that five prominent leaders are being considered for the role.
