Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has announced that he will not perform in India until the live show infrastructure improves. The announcement came during his concert in Chandigarh on December 14, where he addressed the audience about challenges faced by performers and fans alike.

In a video shared on social media, Diljit stated in Punjabi, "India lacks proper infrastructure for live performances. Concerts are a significant source of livelihood for many, but the facilities aren’t up to the mark. I will ensure better arrangements, such as a central stage setup, for a better experience next time. Until then, I won’t be doing concerts here."

During the event, Diljit dedicated his Dil-Luminati concert to Gukesh Dommaraju, India’s newly crowned FIDE World Chess Champion, applauding the young champion's dedication and hard work in achieving global recognition.

However, Diljit faced some backlash for using the spelling "Panjab" instead of "Punjab" in his social media post promoting the Chandigarh concert. The spelling drew criticism from users, who noted its association with the Pakistani side of the region. Fans also pointed out the omission of the Indian tricolour emoji in the post, a detail that has been included in other concert-related tweets.

On the professional front, Diljit’s Dil-Luminati India tour is nearing its conclusion, with performances lined up in Mumbai on December 19 and Guwahati on December 29, marking the end of the series.

Diljit’s bold stand on live performance standards has sparked conversations about the quality of concert venues in India and the growing demands of modern audiences and artists.
