Diljit Dosanjh Honors His Mother and Celebrates Indian Languages at 2nd Delhi Show
Following a vibrant second show at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Diljit Dosanjh expressed pride in his Punjabi roots while captivating a crowd of 40,000 fans
28-10-2024After a successful first day, singer Diljit Dosanjh's second concert of the Dil-Luminati India Tour at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 27 was a sold-out event. Following the show, the Chamkila actor shared a video clip in which he addressed the audience and reflected on his mother.
In the video, Diljit expressed in Punjabi, "When I came into this world, my mother spoke to me in Punjabi, and the first letter I learned was in that language. Our nation is a tapestry of languages, all deserving of respect—be it Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, or Hindi. But since my mother communicates in Punjabi, that's the language I cherish. That's why I proudly say, ‘Punjabi Dilli agaye oyee' (Punjabis have arrived in Delhi)."
Dressed in black and draped in the Tricolour, Diljit captioned the video, "Delhi Day 2, ONE LOVE DIL-LUMINATI TOUR Year 24." After his heartfelt introduction, he launched into the performance of "Main Hoon Punjab" from the film Chamkila.
On this occasion, Diljit captivated around 40,000 fans with a two-hour show featuring popular tracks such as "5 Taara," "Do You Know," "GOAT," "Proper Patola," "Hass Hass," "Lemonade," "Kinni Kinni," "Naina," "Ikk Kudi," "Clash," "Lover," "Khutti," and "Patiala Peg."
The artist is set to continue his tour across nine additional cities, including Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, and Kolkata, with the grand finale scheduled for Guwahati on December 29.
