Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh launched his Aura tour in Delhi on October 30, combining a high-energy performance with a message to critics over his stance on the censored film Satluj. The singer also thanked Delhi Police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Delhi Metro for helping manage the event and ease the movement of concertgoers.
The Delhi show featured some of Dosanjh’s popular tracks and personal moments that resonated with fans. The singer acknowledged the authorities involved in managing the concert, while extended metro services helped audiences travel home after the event.
In a social media post following the performance, Dosanjh thanked his Delhi fans and gave shoutouts to Delhi Police, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the CRPF and ticketing platform BookMyShow.
Diljit responds to criticism over ‘Satluj’
Beyond the music, Dosanjh addressed the online criticism surrounding his position on Satluj, a censored film about activist Jaswant Singh Khalra. Defending his stance, the singer emphasised the resilience of Punjabis and their ability to stand up for causes they believe in. He also responded to his detractors with a message of love rather than escalating the dispute.
The remarks came amid scrutiny of his position on the film, which has drawn attention because of its subject matter and censorship-related concerns.
Personal moments win over concertgoers
Dosanjh’s interaction with an officer during the event became one of the evening’s memorable moments. His light-hearted social media activity also added to the buzz, including a playful post carrying the phrase “MACHO CHAYE PYAR KARO”.
The singer’s appreciation for the police and other agencies highlighted the coordination required to manage a large public event in the national capital, particularly when crowds need to disperse safely after a concert.
Abhijeet Dipke praises the singer
The Delhi performance also drew a positive response from Abhijeet Dipke, who later shared his admiration for Dosanjh despite their previous disagreements. His post added another dimension to the conversation surrounding the singer, whose public positions have sometimes attracted debate beyond his music.
With the opening Delhi show, Dosanjh brought together entertainment, audience engagement and a defence of his views, while acknowledging the officials and organisations that helped the event run smoothly.
