Former One Direction star and solo artist Liam Payne has tragically passed away in Buenos Aires, according to reports from local media. The 31-year-old British singer was discovered dead in the courtyard of a hotel located in the Palermo district, as confirmed by authorities on Wednesday, October 16.

Leading Argentine outlets, including La Nacion and Clarin, reported that police were alerted to an incident involving "an aggressive man possibly under the influence of drugs and alcohol." Upon arriving at the scene, emergency responders found Payne unresponsive and later declared him dead.

MTV Latin America's social media page expressed grief, stating, "Our hearts are shattered, and we send strength and light to his family and loved ones."

Liam Payne rose to stardom as a member of the popular boy band One Direction, formed during the 2010 season of The X Factor. Alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson, Payne was part of the group that achieved international fame before disbanding in 2016, with each member embarking on solo careers.
