Govinda’s manager has strongly refuted online speculation suggesting the actor was involved in criminal or violent activity, calling the circulating narratives misleading and harmful.
Addressing growing rumours, the manager said Govinda was unfairly portrayed as dangerous, despite no wrongdoing on his part. He criticised social media for amplifying fear-driven stories that have damaged the actor’s reputation.
The manager revealed that an incident occurred sometime last year in the early morning hours when a group of unidentified individuals gathered near Govinda’s home. He explained that the situation could have turned dangerous if the actor had not acted cautiously to protect himself.
According to him, Govinda had a mobile phone in hand and also possessed his licensed firearm at the time, which helped prevent the situation from escalating. He emphasised that Govinda’s actions were solely defensive and intended to ensure personal safety.
He further stated that video evidence of the incident exists and can be presented if needed. The manager added that police were informed and an official record of the event was made.
It was also confirmed that Govinda suffered minor injuries while responding to the situation in self-defence.
The clarification comes amid renewed attention due to an earlier unrelated incident in October 2024, when Govinda was hospitalised following an accidental discharge of his licensed revolver. Authorities had then ruled out any malicious intent, confirming it was an accident.
