Gurugram Traffic Police Temporarily Suspends Nighttime Challan Issuance Amid Complaints
This move aims to prevent inconvenience to drivers at night, with permission from higher authorities being required for any necessary challans
31-05-2024Gurugram's Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Traffic, Virendra Vij, has issued instructions to suspend issuing challans to vehicles at night following complaints during vehicle checks. This move aims to prevent inconvenience to drivers at night, with permission from higher authorities being required for any necessary challans.
In a letter dated May 28, DCP Virendra Vij emphasized that traffic personnel should prioritize assisting and guiding drivers during nighttime hours, similar to Swami Vivekananda's meditative retreat at Kanyakumari, a significant historical site.
Furthermore, the DCP warned of strict departmental action against any traffic police officer neglecting or disobeying these instructions, reinforcing the importance of adhering to the directive for smooth traffic movement and public safety.
DCP Virendra Vij's initiative seeks to mitigate nighttime travel inconveniences while ensuring essential traffic enforcement measures are still enforced with appropriate authorization.
