Actor Hansika Motwani and her husband Sohael Khaturiya have officially parted ways after the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai approved their petition for divorce by mutual consent.
Motwani had approached the court seeking separation and reportedly decided not to pursue any financial claims, including alimony or streedhan, as part of the settlement.
Differences led to separation
During the proceedings, Motwani was represented by advocate Adnan Shaikh. According to the submissions made in court, the couple lived together for only a brief period after their wedding before realising they had fundamental differences.
The petition stated that disagreements over lifestyle choices, opinions and personal temperaments gradually created friction between them. Over time, frequent arguments — sometimes even over minor matters — made it difficult for the couple to continue living together.
Attempts at reconciliation failed
The filing also noted that family members and close friends had tried to help the couple reconcile and encouraged them to resolve their issues. Despite these efforts, the relationship did not improve.
Eventually, both parties decided that ending the marriage was the best course of action. They have reportedly been living separately since July 2, 2024.
Mutual decision to end marriage
Although their relationship had become strained, the couple later held discussions and agreed to dissolve the marriage amicably. Both Motwani and Khaturiya submitted affidavits to the court confirming that neither would make any financial or legal claims against the other.
Wedding in Jaipur in 2022
The pair had tied the knot on December 4, 2022, in a traditional Hindu ceremony held at Mundota Fort and Palace in Jaipur. The marriage did not result in any children.
