Heavy rains drenched Delhi-NCR on Wednesday morning, providing much-needed respite from the humid weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'yellow alert' for the region, indicating the likelihood of additional showers throughout the day, with rainfall expected between 6 cm and 11 cm.

The IMD forecast predicts that the maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 36 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively. According to the forecast shared by IMD on X (formerly Twitter), areas like Delhi University, Civil Lines, Kashmiri Gate, Seelampur, Shahadra, Vivek Vihar, Patel Nagar, Red Fort, Preet Vihar, Budha Jayanti Park, and President House are expected to receive rain.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded in the "good" category with a reading of 40, as reported by the Central Pollution Control Board.

The IMD has also forecast heavy rainfall in parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra on July 24. Meanwhile, Rajasthan is expected to experience hot and humid weather until tomorrow.

Northeastern India is predicted to see "fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall" over the next five days, according to the IMD's weather bulletin.

Himachal Pradesh has been issued a 'yellow' warning for heavy rains at isolated places over the next four days until July 27. In Chandigarh and Punjab, the IMD has forecast "above normal" temperatures and high humidity for the next two days.

In Odisha, light to moderate rainfall is expected over the next two days, with similar conditions predicted for July 25 and 26. Goa is also set to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in both North and South Goa districts from July 24 to 25.
