Following Coldplay’s announcement of a concert in Ahmedabad on January 25 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, hotel rates in the city have skyrocketed, with social media users sharing screenshots of the steep costs. The surge comes as the British band is set to perform in Mumbai for three shows before heading to Ahmedabad.

Several hotels in Ahmedabad have raised room rates to over Rs 50,000 per night for the concert date and surrounding days. Social media user Spandana advised concert-goers to consider staying in Vadodara to save on accommodation costs, while another user, Priti Jain, posted a screenshot showing a rate of Rs 53,200 per night at an Ahmedabad hotel.

On online platforms like MakeMyTrip, many 5-star hotels in Ahmedabad are indeed priced above Rs 50,000 per night for the concert day, compared to typical rates of Rs 6,000 to Rs 20,000 on regular weekends. While rooms are selling out quickly, some budget options remain available.

Coldplay’s return to India, after a nine-year hiatus, includes their performances in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21 before they take the stage in Ahmedabad.
