Hrithik-Kangana spat reignites as actor asks ex-star to stop ‘embarrassing’ partner Saba Azad

Kangana Ranaut has responded sharply to Hrithik Roshan’s remarks on the viral “Sorry Hrithik” trend, accusing him of fuelling online attacks against her and urging him to refrain from making comments that, she said, embarrass his partner, Saba Azad

The long-running public feud between actors Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut has flared up once again, with Kangana accusing the actor of intensifying online hostility against her after his comments on the trending “We Need to Apologise to Hrithik” campaign.

The latest exchange began after Hrithik reacted to social media discussions surrounding the trend, cautioning people against taking sides based solely on shifting online sentiment. He stressed that opinions should be guided by facts and context rather than popular narratives circulating on the internet.

Soon after, Kangana responded through an Instagram story, questioning why Hrithik had not spoken out against people who, according to her, were targeting and trolling her in his name. While extending good wishes to Hrithik and his partner, actor Saba Azad, Kangana also asked him to avoid making statements that could further inflame the controversy.

In her message, Kangana said she was pleased that Hrithik had found happiness in his personal life but added that it was inappropriate for him to make remarks that, in her view, reignited an old dispute. She urged him to condemn those allegedly harassing her online instead of contributing to the debate.

Earlier in the day, Hrithik had commented on an Instagram post by influencer Freddy Birdy, which claimed that people owed the actor an apology. Responding to the post, Hrithik wrote that supporting one person merely because public opinion had turned against another reflected a deeper problem in society. He added that he would rather wait for the complete facts and the right circumstances before drawing conclusions.

The renewed attention around their past dispute was triggered by Kangana's recent remarks on student protests, which led to a public disagreement with Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurav Das. During the exchange, Das joked that some of his friends believed Kangana was targeting him because he resembled a younger Hrithik Roshan.

The actor duo's conflict dates back nearly a decade. In 2016, Kangana referred to Hrithik as her "silly ex" during an interview, a claim that Hrithik strongly denied. The disagreement soon escalated into a high-profile legal battle involving allegations, notices and public statements from both sides.

Although years have passed since the controversy first erupted, the latest social media exchanges have once again placed their strained relationship under the spotlight.
