IAF MiG-29 Fighter Jet Crashes Near Agra, Pilot Safely Ejects

04-11-2024An Indian Air Force MiG-29 fighter jet crashed near Agra in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, with the pilot safely ejecting before the aircraft went down in a field and burst into flames, according to defense officials.
The aircraft had departed from Adampur in Punjab and was en route to Agra as part of an exercise when the incident occurred. Videos from the crash site reveal smoke billowing from the wreckage and a crowd gathering nearby.
Officials confirmed that a court of inquiry would be initiated to investigate the cause of the crash. Additional information is still awaited.
This incident follows another recent MiG-29 crash on September 2 in Rajasthan’s Barmer. That aircraft, which was on a training mission from an Air Force base in Barmer, also developed a technical issue, leading to a crash. Fortunately, the pilot was able to safely eject before the jet erupted into flames upon impact in a field near Uttarlai.
