IMD has issued different alerts for regions in Maharashtra: a red alert for Sindhudurg, an orange alert for Ratnagiri, and a yellow alert for Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, and Raigad. Mumbai and its environs experienced substantial rainfall over the past 24 hours, providing relief from the prevailing heat and humidity. Additionally, several districts, including Thane, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Ahmednagar, Satara, and Jalgaon, received noteworthy precipitation.
Thane and Palghar districts encountered heavy overnight showers, resulting in localized waterlogging and minor incidents of tree branches falling. Thane reported 37.06 mm of rainfall in the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 am on Sunday, while Palghar witnessed similar conditions without significant repercussions.
