In a decisive response to the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam that left 25 tourists and a Kashmiri citizen dead, Indian security forces have demolished the homes of 10 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir over the past six days, and the operation is expected to continue.

Among those whose houses were razed are Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives Adil Hussain Thoker, Zakir Ahmad Ganai, Amir Ahmad Dar, Asif Sheikh, Shahid Ahmad Kuttey, and Ahsan ul Haq Amir; Jaish-e-Mohammed's Amir Nazeer Wani and Jameel Ahmad Sher Gojri; and The Resistance Front members Adnan Safi Dar and Farooq Ahmad Tedwa.

Security sources revealed that Ahsan ul Haq received training in Pakistan in 2018 and recently infiltrated back into Kashmir. Lashkar commander Shahid Ahmad Kuttay was known for his involvement in anti-India activities, while Zakir Ahmad Ganie had long been on the radar for multiple terror-related operations. Farooq Ahmad Tedwa, officials added, has been operating from across the border in Pakistan. Adil Hussain Thoker is suspected to have played a direct role in last Tuesday’s massacre.

According to the police, the ongoing demolitions and search operations are aimed at dismantling the terror infrastructure that has taken root in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Pahalgam attack, carried out at the scenic Baisaran meadow, saw at least five terrorists open fire on tourists and a local pony handler. Survivors reported that the assailants questioned the victims about their religion before shooting those who identified themselves as Hindus.

The barbaric killings have triggered nationwide outrage and mourning. Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed that India would hunt down every terrorist and their supporters, ensuring they face the harshest retribution.

"The entire nation stands with the grieving families," the Prime Minister said. "Some lost a son, some lost a brother, a life partner. They came from different corners of India — Bengal, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Gujarat, Bihar — but their loss is shared by all of India. This was not just an attack on tourists, but an assault on India's very soul."

PM Modi warned that the terrorists and their backers would face consequences beyond their imagination. "Whatever remains of these terror networks will be flattened. The strength of 140 crore Indians will crush the backbone of terrorism," he declared, pointedly directing his remarks at Pakistan, which India accuses of sheltering terror outfits.

In the aftermath of the attack, India has taken tough diplomatic measures against Pakistan. It has suspended the Indus Water Treaty and halted visa services for Pakistani nationals.

In response, Pakistan announced that it would consider putting all bilateral agreements with India, including the Simla Agreement, "in abeyance." The suspension of the Simla Agreement, which established the Line of Control after the 1971 war, could have serious implications, raising doubts over the LoC’s legitimacy.

The standoff marks a sharp escalation in tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, with India signaling an uncompromising stance against terrorism and its enablers.
