Infosys CEO Salil Parekh assured CNBC-TV18 that the company has no intentions of downsizing or laying off employees amidst the technological advancements in generative AI, which have led to significant job cuts in the industry. Parekh emphasized Infosys's commitment to retaining its workforce, distinguishing it from other firms in the sector.

Parekh outlined the company's hiring plans, expressing optimism about the coexistence of various technologies within large organizations. He highlighted Infosys's focus on developing expertise in generative AI to better serve global enterprises, anticipating that technological advancements will create new opportunities rather than eliminate jobs.

While Infosys has not set specific hiring targets, Parekh emphasized the company's agility in recruitment, adjusting hiring efforts according to economic conditions and the demand for digital transformation services.

Additionally, Infosys recently distributed performance bonuses to its employees, with those at band six and below receiving quarterly bonuses for the January-March period. However, the average payout for this quarter decreased to 60 percent compared to the previous quarter's 73 percent, as reported by the Economic Times.
