29-01-2026External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with the newly appointed United States Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, in New Delhi on Thursday, marking an early engagement between the two since Gor assumed office.
During the meeting, both sides explored a wide range of topics including defense collaboration, trade relations, supply chains for critical minerals, and broader strategic cooperation. The discussions reflected mutual interest in deepening the India–U.S. partnership across economic, technological, and security domains.
Ambassador Gor described the exchange as meaningful and productive, noting that it took place shortly after India’s Republic Day celebrations. The talks come at a time when Jaishankar is preparing for an upcoming visit to Washington to attend a ministerial-level meeting focused on critical minerals.
