Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has lauded Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan's elder son, for venturing into filmmaking rather than following his father's path as an actor. On November 19, Shah Rukh announced Aryan's debut as a director for a Bollywood series set to stream on Netflix.
Sharing Aryan’s announcement on Instagram, Kangana commended his choice to work behind the camera. "It’s wonderful to see children from film families exploring opportunities beyond acting — roles that require more than just wearing makeup and looking glamorous," she wrote. Kangana added that raising the bar for Indian cinema is essential and praised Aryan for taking a less conventional route. "I look forward to seeing his debut as a writer and filmmaker," she concluded.
Shah Rukh also expressed his excitement on X, writing, "Today marks a special moment as @RedChilliesEnt and Aryan Khan unveil their new series on @NetflixIndia. Here’s to bold storytelling, dynamic scenes, and lots of emotions. Go shine, Aryan, and remember — there’s no business like show business!"
Aryan’s debut series, tentatively titled Stardom, is being produced by Gauri Khan. It reportedly features Mona Singh in a prominent role, alongside cameo appearances by Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, and Bobby Deol.
Karan Johar also congratulated Aryan, calling him "incredible" and expressing pride in his directorial venture. Meanwhile, Aryan’s sister Suhana Khan shared her enthusiasm on social media, saying she was "proud" and eagerly awaiting the series.
With a mix of established actors and fresh perspectives, Aryan Khan’s directorial debut promises to add a unique voice to Indian entertainment.
