On Thursday, Bollywood actor and newly elected BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi, Kangana Ranaut, claimed that a CISF officer at Chandigarh Airport assaulted her while she was en route to Delhi.

Ranaut reported that the incident occurred as she was heading towards the boarding area post-security check. She alleged that Kulwinder Kaur, the CISF officer stationed at the frisking zone, engaged in a verbal dispute with her and then slapped her.

Sources suggest that the altercation was possibly fueled by comments Ranaut had made about women in Punjab during the farmers' protest.

Upon her arrival in Delhi, Ranaut met with CISF Director General Nina Singh and other senior officials to recount the incident. In response, a probe committee has been established to investigate Ranaut's allegations. The officer in question, Kulwinder Kaur, has been detained and is being questioned at the CISF Commandant Office.

Kangana Ranaut recently won the Mandi Lok Sabha seat, defeating Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh by a margin of 74,755 votes. This victory makes her the fourth woman elected to the Lok Sabha from Himachal Pradesh and the first non-royal woman to achieve this feat.
