Kapil Sharma’s café in Surrey, Canada, has faced another round of violence—its second within a month—as gunshots were reported outside the premises on Thursday.
The fresh round of firing has been linked to gangster Goldy Dhillon, who claims to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Dhillon took to social media to assert responsibility, posting a message that said:
“Jai Shree Ram. Sat Shree Akaal. Ram Ram to all brothers. Today’s shooting at Kapil Sharma’s Kaps Café in Surrey was done by us. We called the target, but he didn’t answer, so we acted. If he still doesn’t respond, expect the next move in Mumbai soon.”
A video of the shooting—now circulating widely online—appears to show gunfire coming from a moving vehicle near the café. The clip features more than two dozen gunshots and a voice repeating the claim about the intended target ignoring calls, suggesting a follow-up strike could occur in Mumbai.
This incident comes less than a month after the first attack on July 9, when Kap’s Café, recently launched by the popular Indian comedian, was targeted late at night. That time, Harjeet Singh Laddi, a wanted Khalistani extremist linked to the banned Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), had claimed responsibility.
Authorities in India and Canada are both actively investigating the matter. Security agencies are reviewing the viral video and monitoring online threats closely. The Mumbai Police have also been alerted following the gang’s mention of potential action in the city.
