Leakage at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya Months After Inauguration
Reports of water leaking from the roof of the sanctum sanctorum at Ayodhya's Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple have sparked concerns about infrastructure maintenance
24-06-2024Months after its inauguration, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya has faced reports of leakage from the roof of its sanctum sanctorum. The head priest, Acharya Satyendra Das, expressed concern over water seepage during rainfall, emphasizing the need for immediate attention to address the issue. He highlighted the challenges posed by the lack of proper drainage facilities within the temple premises, noting that intensified rainfall could disrupt prayers.
The temple, inaugurated on January 22 this year with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the 'Pranratishtha' ceremony, stands as a magnificent example of Nagara style architecture. Spanning a sprawling 2.7-acre plot, the temple complex also includes plans for a 14-foot-wide security wall and additional facilities to accommodate up to 25,000 pilgrims. Recently, the temple administration imposed a ban on mobile phones to enhance security and maintain a serene environment for devotees.
