Malaika Arora has released her first statement following the tragic death of her father, Anil Mehta, who passed away on September 11. Authorities have indicated that the case appears to be a suicide. In her statement, Malaika requested privacy as the family copes with the loss.

"We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved father, Anil Mehta. He was a kind soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock and grief over this loss, and we kindly ask the media and well-wishers to respect our privacy during this difficult time. Your understanding and support are greatly appreciated," the statement read.

Anil Mehta’s cremation is scheduled for September 12 at 11 pm at the Santa Cruz crematorium.

The 62-year-old was found deceased at Ayesha Manor, the family’s residence. According to police, he jumped from the sixth-floor terrace of the building. Malaika Arora, who was attending an event in Pune at the time, returned home upon hearing the news. The police investigation is ongoing.
