American actor Milo Ventimiglia, widely known for his role as Jack Pearson on NBC's This Is Us, revealed that his Malibu home was completely destroyed in the Palisades fire. Speaking with CBS News on January 9, Ventimiglia expressed his grief over the loss, especially as he and his wife, Jarah Mariano, were preparing for the arrival of their baby.

The 47-year-old actor appeared visibly emotional as he shared that the fire had reduced everything, including the arrangements for their unborn child, to ashes. "You start thinking about all the memories and the different parts of the house, and then you see your neighbours’ houses, and your heart just breaks," he said, reflecting on the devastation.

Ventimiglia, who is also known for Gilmore Girls, described the shock of seeing the destruction unfold. He and his wife evacuated their home on January 7 as flames swept through their neighborhood. The couple watched the fire’s progress through security cameras before ultimately turning them off, unable to bear watching further. "We just accepted the loss," Ventimiglia explained.

Despite the overwhelming grief, he emphasized that his priority remains his wife, baby, and dog. "What’s most important is my family," he said, choking up as he reflected on the loss. The actor also noted the eerie parallels between his real-life experience and his character’s journey in This Is Us, where Jack and Rebecca Pearson also lose their home to a fire.
