In a joint note posted online, the two addressed the growing chatter around their marriage and expressed disappointment over what they described as unwarranted scrutiny of their private lives.

Buzz around their relationship had intensified earlier in the week when social media users observed that the couple had apparently unfollowed each other on Instagram. The speculation gained further momentum after Suraj’s account briefly appeared inaccessible, prompting rumours about trouble in their marriage.

Mouni and Suraj tied the knot in Goa on January 27, 2022, in ceremonies that blended Malayali and Bengali traditions. Their wedding celebrations featured pre-wedding rituals such as haldi and sangeet, followed by a reception-style poolside gathering. Suraj, an entrepreneur and investment professional originally from Bengaluru, had reportedly been based in Dubai before their marriage.

Throughout their relationship, the pair frequently shared snapshots from vacations, festive occasions, and intimate moments on social media, offering fans a glimpse into their life together.

Mouni first gained widespread recognition on Indian television with shows like Kasturi, Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev and Naagin.
