The Mumbai Crime Branch has initiated the extradition process for Anmol Bishnoi, the sibling of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is wanted for his involvement in the shooting incident at actor Salman Khan’s home, among various other criminal cases throughout India, as reported by sources.
Sources from the Mumbai Police revealed that US authorities have confirmed Anmol Bishnoi's location in the United States to Indian officials. The Mumbai Crime Branch has notified the Mumbai Sessions Court regarding the extradition proceedings and will soon submit the case file to the Central Government for further action.
Moreover, a Red Corner Notice has been issued to assist in locating him internationally, as per the sources.
Anmol Bishnoi is facing more than 17 criminal charges in India and is implicated in the Salman Khan shooting case, alongside his brother Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar.
Recently, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) included Anmol Bishnoi on its most-wanted list and announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for any information leading to his capture.
He is also a suspect in the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala, accused of supplying the imported firearms utilized in the crime. According to police reports, Bishnoi allegedly provided a Turkey-made Tisas pistol and a Glock handgun, both of which were used in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui on October 12. Investigations suggest that he was in contact with one of the suspects involved in Siddiqui's killing, indicating his possible role in the conspiracy.
Baba Siddiqui, aged 66, was shot by three assailants while celebrating Dussehra. The police stated that Anmol Bishnoi maintained direct communication with the suspects through the social media platform Snapchat while operating from Canada and the United States.
To date, authorities have arrested 10 individuals related to Baba Siddiqui's murder, including two shooters and an arms dealer.
