A 27-year-old man, Akash Maine, was tragically beaten to death following a road rage incident in Mumbai’s Malad area on October 12. The altercation occurred when Akash, who was out with his parents to purchase a new car for Dussehra, became involved in a dispute over overtaking near Dindoshi.

The incident began when an auto-rickshaw reportedly overtook Akash’s vehicle near Malad railway station, leading to a heated argument. The situation quickly escalated as the auto-rickshaw driver, along with a group of accomplices, attacked Akash, leaving him fatally injured.

Footage of the assault, which has circulated on social media, shows Akash’s mother attempting to protect her son by covering him with her body, while his father desperately pleads with the attackers to stop.

Authorities have registered a murder case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) against the auto-rickshaw driver and others involved. Nine suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, and an investigation is underway.
