Sources indicate that Narendra Modi will likely take the oath of office as India's Prime Minister on Sunday, June 9, following earlier reports of the ceremony being scheduled for a day earlier.

Modi tendered his resignation on Wednesday, submitting his letter to President Droupadi Murmu before his oath ceremony. The President accepted his resignation and urged him to continue in his role until the new government assumes office.

Additionally, it was reported earlier in the day that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Chandrababu Naidu, expected to be sworn in as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister on Sunday, will now take oath on June 12, due to Modi's rescheduled ceremony.

The Prime Minister's oath-taking event is anticipated to be attended by several foreign dignitaries, including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

Despite exit poll predictions, the BJP-led NDA secured 293 of 543 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. The INDIA bloc, comprising opposition parties, won 234 seats, making significant gains in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, traditionally BJP strongholds.

Modi chaired the final meeting of his Cabinet and Council of Ministers on Wednesday, discussing the election results and matters related to the new government's formation. Later, he presided over an NDA meeting to finalize details regarding the government formation process.
