Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday confirmed his approval of the September attack targeting the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, resulting in the deaths of almost 40 people and injuries to over 3,000.

During a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu acknowledged that Israel authorized the use of pagers and walkie-talkies in coordinated strikes against Hezbollah militants, including a fatal operation targeting Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut, Lebanon.

“The pager operation and the strike on [Hezbollah chief Hassan] Nasrallah proceeded despite objections from top defense officials and key figures within the political ranks responsible for overseeing them,” Netanyahu stated, as reported by The Times of Israel.
