Rapper Nicki Minaj has been hit with a lawsuit alleging assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The case, filed by Brandon Garrett, a former day-to-day manager on Minaj's Pink Friday 2 tour, was submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court last Friday.

Garrett alleges that the incident took place backstage at Detroit's Little Caesars Arena on April 21, following one of Minaj’s concerts. According to his complaint, Minaj became angry during a confrontation over a task involving her prescriptions and allegedly struck him multiple times.

The lawsuit claims that Garrett was called to Minaj's dressing room, where she expressed frustration about staff responsibilities and the handling of her prescriptions. Garrett states that Minaj became increasingly upset, yelled at him, made threats, and eventually hit him, causing physical discomfort. Following the alleged altercation, Garrett says he locked himself in a restroom before discovering he was dismissed from the tour.

Fearing for his safety, Garrett reportedly sought police assistance in both Detroit and Chicago and filed an official report. He is now seeking punitive and general damages, citing significant emotional and physical distress from the incident.

Minaj’s attorney, Judd Burstein, has denied the allegations, calling them “completely false and frivolous.” In a statement to Variety, Burstein said, “No complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty [Minaj's legal name following her marriage to Kenneth Petty], and we are currently unaware of the specifics of these allegations.” He expressed confidence that Minaj would prevail in the legal dispute.

Nicki Minaj has not made any public comments on the matter aside from her lawyer’s statement. The case continues to unfold as Garrett’s claims bring new scrutiny to the star’s backstage conduct.
