PM Modi: Indian-Americans Are India’s Most Powerful Brand Ambassadors
PM Modi Hails Indian-Americans as 'Rashtradoots' During New York Event
23-09-2024During his visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Indian-American community, referring to them as "Rashtradoots," or India's brand ambassadors. Speaking at the 'Modi and US' event held at Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York, PM Modi addressed a crowd of around 13,000 Indian-Americans, acknowledging their contributions and calling them powerful representatives of India's values and culture.
“I have always recognized the capabilities of the Indian community, even before holding any official position. To me, you have always been strong brand ambassadors of India, which is why I call you 'Rashtradoots,'” Modi remarked. He also emphasized the unity and diversity of India, a nation with numerous languages, faiths, and religions, yet moving forward together.
Modi’s address was part of his three-day visit to the U.S., which began on September 21. On the first day, he arrived in Wilmington, Delaware, where he participated in the Quad Summit alongside U.S. President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The leaders discussed various global challenges, including maritime security, climate change, and the geopolitical situation in the Indo-Pacific.
Modi’s trip will conclude with his address at the Summit of the Future at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Monday. The visit has focused on strengthening India-US relations and enhancing collaboration on critical global issues.
