PM Modi Discloses INR 3.02 Crore in Assets, Lacks Property or Vehicle Ownership

14-05-2024Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his election affidavit filed from the Varanasi constituency, revealed that he possesses assets worth over ₹3 crore, with no ownership of land, houses, or cars. The bulk of his assets, totaling ₹3.02 crore, comprises a fixed deposit of ₹2.86 crore with the State Bank of India. Additionally, he holds ₹52,920 in cash and ₹80,304 across two bank accounts in Gandhinagar and Varanasi.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister has investments totaling ₹9.12 lakh in National Savings Certificates and owns four gold rings valued at ₹2.68 lakh. His income increased from ₹11.14 lakh in 2018-19 to ₹23.56 lakh in 2022-23.
In terms of education, PM Modi disclosed that he completed his Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University in 1978 and his Master of Arts from Gujarat University in 1983. He asserted that there are no pending criminal cases against him.
During the nomination filing in Varanasi, where he is seeking a third term as MP, PM Modi expressed gratitude and emotion, stating, "I am overwhelmed. I did not even realize how 10 years passed under the shade of your affection. 'Today, Maa Ganga has adopted me.'"
Varanasi is scheduled to vote in the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha election on June 1.
