On October 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Latha Rajinikanth, wife of superstar Rajinikanth, to inquire about the actor's health following his recent medical procedure. Tamil Nadu BJP State President K Annamalai shared the update on his official X account, stating that the Prime Minister extended his best wishes for Rajinikanth's recovery.
Rajinikanth had undergone a scheduled procedure to insert a stent in his aorta, addressing a swelling in a blood vessel near his heart. According to a medical bulletin from Apollo Hospitals, the non-invasive procedure was successful, and the actor is in stable condition. He is expected to be discharged within the next couple of days.
K Annamalai also shared a photo of Rajinikanth and Prime Minister Modi, emphasizing the Prime Minister's concern and well wishes. In his X post, Annamalai wrote, "Honorable PM Narendra Modi spoke to Mrs. Latha Rajinikanth today, inquiring about the health of our beloved Superstar. The Prime Minister was updated on Rajinikanth's post-surgery recovery and wished him a swift return to good health."
In addition to the Prime Minister, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Rajinikanth's long-time friend Kamal Haasan shared their wishes for his speedy recovery on social media. Vijay, actor and leader of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, also expressed his prayers for the superstar's health, hoping for his quick return home.
On the professional front, Rajinikanth is set to appear in Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, which is slated for release on October 10. He is also involved in the production of his upcoming film Coolie, helmed by director Lokesh Kanagaraj.
