17-05-2026Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Sweden as part of the third leg of his five-country overseas tour, where he was received by his Swedish counterpart in an official welcome ceremony.
Before landing in Sweden, Modi was in the Netherlands for a series of key diplomatic meetings. During his stay in The Hague, he held discussions with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Queen Maxima, strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
Talks during the Netherlands visit centered on expanding cooperation in advanced technology, semiconductor manufacturing, defence collaboration, renewable energy initiatives, and trade partnerships. The Prime Minister also connected with members of the Indian community and met leading Dutch industry representatives to explore investment and innovation opportunities.
His broader five-nation tour is aimed at deepening strategic relationships, boosting economic engagement, and reinforcing India’s global partnerships.
